April Fool's Day fun! - WORKPLACE jokes - Prank ideas - Fun for kids - Tricks to replace food/drinks, urine cups, fake can goods, cat turds

It's that time of year again!!! Mwahahaha!

I started by telling my soon to be 15 year old that they changed the age for driving permits to 16 years old. Now he would need to wait another year to start practicing and definitely could not practice this summer. I had a whole elaborate story and sold it pretty well. I kept it going all morning but fessed up before he got really upset. :) Lol!

I was really excited because April Fool's Day hasn't landed on a school day since 2016! This meant pranks in their school lunches.
Fake out food in their lunch.
Note on the napkin at the bottom of their lunch box.

Remember the box I sent my Mom and the sneaky gift idea? Well I did it again, I emptied small pop top cans from the bottom and replaced contents with their normal snacks and fruit. They had a can of diced water chestnut, pieces & stems mushrooms, chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, and corned beef hash.

I was originally going to empty all the cans but after I opened the corned beef hash I decided to leave that one with the real contents. Lol!

Sealed the bottom of the cans with hot glue.

I did write OPEN IF YOU DARE on the top as a little warning for the corned beef hash.
It smelled like cat food and a gross solid constancy.

I bagging their sandwiches in 8 zip lock bags and then saran wrapped them.

The cans weren't enough so I included some fresh chilled urine samples. Haha!

I still have a ton of sample cups left over from our last two Halloween parties in 2016 & 2017.

Urine cups were filled with lemon jello this time. I added a little more yellow food color to give it that uriney look.

What's funny is I made extras and brought them to work to fill the fridge.

I stacked them up and on people's food with dates and ranging times. I started the date/times the night before and told them the doctor needed 24 hrs of samples and I have to mail them after work. I kept them in my lunch bag and added an new one to the fridge every time I went to the bathroom. LOLOLOL!!!! It was the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

Photo is after lunch. I couldn't risk getting caught taking a pic before. :)

Remember my kitty litter cake with cat turds? Well I just made the cat turds. I put them in my kids school lunch in a ziploc with a tag labeled cat turds.

For work I put them in a corner in the bathroom. After they were discovered I had everyone go look and kept trying to look closer. Everyone was yelling, DON'T TOUCH IT!" As toilet paper was being grabbed to be cleaned up, I pick a piece up (strategically placed on top) and I licked it.
LMAO!!!! Facial expression = priceless!

AND I replaced my son's apple juice with tea.

AND I replaced the orange juice with mac n cheese powder mix.

AND I made pizza for dinner and dessert was also pizza. Cookie dough, icing and fruit roll-ups to look like pizza.

What a successful day!

April Fool's Day pranks/jokes - EASTER fun!! Sushi, ice cream sundaes, empty eggs - FAKE OUT FOOD

April Fool's Day is one of my favorites!! BUT THIS April Fool's Day was the best!!!! This year Easter and April Fool's day were the same day!!!! Oh the possibilities!!!

Started the day with an egg hunt ....and all the eggs were empty. SO FUNNY, well for me it was. They opened every single egg hoping one had something. All empty!

To make it even better, I filled smaller empty eggs inside the larger eggs so it felt and sounded like they had candy in them. NOPE!

I told them, "I thought you guys just enjoyed finding the eggs. We always have candy in the house so I didn't think it was a big deal I didn't fill them. Plus, the dogs kept messing with them and I thought they would eat the candy and get sick" {{academy award goes to me!}}

Ah, but I did have a REAL egg hunt. We have a small workout room in the garage and I hid all the eggs out there.

The challenge was to get them to go to the garage. First, I asked one of the boys to feed the dogs and even insisted it be now and before breakfast! He went into the garage but didn't see them!!!!! Next, I told my other son it was his turn to take out the trash. He did it and STILL didn't see them. Finally, I told them I had a new orange juice in the garage fridge BUT nope, there was still a tiny bit left and the other one didn't want any. UGH

I didn't want to make it more obvious that I needed them in the garage so I was just going to let it play out. After breakfast we started talking about this older game for the old Xbox. That Xbox is in the workout area. FINALLY!!!

We had such a good laugh after thinking back during the morning egg hunt with all the empty eggs. Huge success!!!!

I did some of the usual tricks from years past just to see if I could get them again. Here are links to past posts for more ideas.
Next was dinner and I told them we were having ice cream sundaes for dinner and sushi for dessert.  :P

Dinner:
Ice cream sundaes were pulled pork and mashed potatoes layered with gravy.

I layered the mashed potatoes with an icing tip so it looked decorative.

Topped with a little cherry tomato and red and white striped straw. The straw sold it from a distance when I was walking to the table. The boys loved it!

Dessert:

Sushi was made from Rice Krispies Treats, Fruit Roll-ups, Swedish Fish candy, and sour gummy worms.

I didn't make the Rice Krispies Treats since I wasn't sure I could it without them noticing. The store bought ones are all the same size so it worked so perfect.

I cut one treat into 3 pieces.

Placed a Swedish Fish on top and wrapped with the Fruit Roll-Ups. The Fruit Roll-Ups are sticky so nothing extra is needed.

For the other ones, I cut one treat into two pieces with one larger piece.

I pushed the corners in to make it more round. Then used a large icing tip to remove a circle from the middle.

Then filled with cut sour gummy worms and wrapped the edge with Fruit Roll-Ups.

I love all the colors and so fun to make. I used the left overs in their lunch for school Monday and Tuesday and all the kids ooooh'd and ahhhh'd. I was named best Mom ever. :D

At this point it's hard to fool them but the sundaes were pretty convincing. Next year I should actually do what I say we're having and not switch it up. Lol!

FUN pranks - April Fool's Day IDEAS for kids - sneaky FAKE Dinner/Dessert

2017 April Fool's Day Ideas

BREAKFAST

Remember the frozen cereal?? Well, it was a few years ago so I decided to do it again BUT change it up a little.

I pre-froze it the night before with a straw and in the morning I filled with a little more juice so it moved around on top. See my youngest reaction :)

"Why can't I drink my juice?!"

April Fool's Day - that's why!!! LOL! Oh the fun I have.
Frozen juice was a success!

I also hid breakfast in the saltines box.
NO PHOTO - SORRY (you can see the saltines box in the video)

BOYS: What's for breakfast?
ME: Jump up!
BOYS: What???
ME: Jump up and get your own breakfast. Lol! (I said it nice and joking of course)

ME: Look, I don't have time this morning so just have crackers. {{tossed a box of saltines on the table}}

It was really a cereal I NEVER buy (chocolate cookie something cereal) or I was going to fill with donuts but was afraid they would get all messy when they moved the box or when I tossed it on the table.

They loved it! :) Breakfast was a success. You have to start out strong because then they think EVERYTHING is a joke after that. Very very suspicious. I will say both boys asked for MEAN pranks again this year but I'm still trying to get over the oreos and toothpaste incident a few years ago.
Here is the video of me prankin' my kid. Poor baby.

I decided not to plan a lunch prank to keep them guessing. I told them I only planned breakfast. Sorry boys. Meanwhile -  ME: Mwahahahaha

I did plan the usual pranks throughout the day:

My Shoes Don't Fit Prank

Oh and this is a favorite

DINNER - Cake Pops & grilled cheese!!

I've done a meatloaf cake in the past and this is a new spin on that idea as well.

CAKE POPS - Meatballs & mash potatoes
Cooked meatballs and made regular mashed potatoes.

I colored the mashed potatoes and "frosted" the meatballs.

Placed in the fridge for about 15 mins to make the icing a little more stiff. I gently pressed down the mashed potatoes to make them look a little smoother.

GRILLED CHEESE - Pound cake & frosting.
Colored icing yellow.

Slices pre-made pound cake.

Parchment paper and made "cheese" slices.
Put in the freezer for 30 mins.

I used a spatula to remove the squares and placed on pound cake slices.

They begged for days if I would make them "grilled cheese" for dinner again. I made several extra slices of "cheese" so they finished off the cake over the next few days. Fun!

My oldest was NOT impressed. Teenagers are hard but as he took a bite of his grilled cheese he busted out laughing. He thought the only prank was the cake pops.

Another fun April Fool's Day! :)
