WINTER THEMED event - party ideas, decorations, favors, treats, candy, photo booth - PHOTOS

We hosted a winter themed bingo at our local retirement residence last Sunday. Here are some photos and links to tutorials below photos or at the end of the post.

I made 30 different bingo cards and printed on card stock paper.

My helper setting up the table decorations.

Covered each table with blue plastic table covers.

Table centerpieces and matching candy.

Easy party favors or treats for the tables.

I made these giant 3D paper snowflakes to hang above each table.

Picture frames wrapped and a mini photo booth against the back wall. I used snowflake wrapping paper and silver metallic curtains from our NYE photoshoot.

He also helped test the mini photobooth.
Mr. Chill pose. :) Very similar to the Red Carpet Event photo.

Then we all had to test it out. :) My Mom came to help too!

I used the same wrapping paper for all the little gifts.

We wanted to get something for everyone but also needed it to be inexpensive. I found these Scalp Massagers at Wal-Mart for $1.00. All blue to keep with the theme of the event.

Pre-cut the wrapping paper so each one was the same.

I made the paper a little longer, pinched the ends, and added a blue ribbon.
Such an easy and quick way to wrap.

My older son usually calls bingo but he ran a fever the night before so he stayed home.
The substitute did a great job.

Everyone had a great time!

Merry Christmas! Morning pranks and Santa's message - fun & creative gift giving ideas - Gift of family time

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year!

We always do fun pranks, clues, and Santa's message to find their gift.

New set of prank boxes. The details on each box are so funny.

The inside flaps says, PRANK YOU! Don't get too excited, your real gift is inside.

I like them for Christmas but you could use them for birthdays or any gift.
I found several at Wal-Mart.

But my absolute favorite this year was this gift.
Rule was that he had to open all the clues before guessing.

3 boxes filled with clues.
The fun part was that the first two boxes of clues were just random words.

I kept saying, "missing sock, don't you get it?!" "Think about the clues." "Forest, neck, dishes.....did you figure it out?"
LOL!!! The confused look was hilarious.

The third box had the clues. He got a new bike. :)

I didn't use it for a gift card but did hide Santa's clue in it.

Fun game from Santa. I can't wait to play.

Update: We had so much fun playing on NYE. Almost more fun without the game.

3D Paper Snowflakes - Holiday craft idea - DIY holiday decorations - How to make tutorial - Frozen / Winter themed party

We are hosting a winter themed event and made giant paper snowflakes to hang above the tables.
Here's how you can make them too!

You can make them much smaller by starting with smaller squares.

Supplies:

Paper (6 sheets)
Scissors
Double sided tape

I used double sided tape to attach.

NOTE: You could also use a stapler or glue. I didn't use either one since you'll see the staples and glue will take a long time too dry.

You need to start with a square piece of paper.
To make a square, take one corner and meet the edge of the paper. Trim excess.

Now you have a large triangle.
Fold it in half to make a smaller triangle.

Have the open end up and cut strips starting from the bottom.
You want to cut the strips almost to the end. (see red lines) Leave a little room at the top trying to keep the same distance left attached at the end and same distance between rows.

NOTE: You can mark it with a ruler if it helps. I just estimated and you couldn't tell unless it's way larger or smaller.

When cutting hold the left side tight and re-adjust as you cut each row. The paper will shift a lot if you are not holding it tight. This is a big step in keeping the rows straight.

1. Unfold triangle to the original square

Quick how to:
2. Fold over ((keeping the center rounded)) and attach with tape
3. Flip paper over
4. Fold over next row and attach together with tape

Flip paper and attach the next row. Repeat until all rows are attached.

Here are some more photos of each step.

2. Fold over ((keeping the center rounded)) and attach with tape

3. Flip paper over

4. Fold over next row and attach together with tape

Flip paper and attach the next row. Repeat until all rows are attached.

I don't have photos when I attached them together but I started with #1 & #2 and overlapped a little and taped together.

Then attached one on each side by rounding the end and matching up with the the ends already attached.
#3 & #4
#5 & #6

Next you will need to attach them all together by adding a pieace of tape almost matching up and X in the circled areas below.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense or you have any questions.

I used a hole punch and fishing line to hang. They really turned out great and the residents loved them.
