3D Paper Snowflakes - Holiday craft idea - DIY holiday decorations - How to make tutorial - Frozen / Winter themed party

We are hosting a winter themed event and made giant paper snowflakes to hang above the tables.
Here's how you can make them too!

You can make them much smaller by starting with smaller squares.

Supplies:

Paper (6 sheets)
Scissors
Double sided tape

I used double sided tape to attach.

NOTE: You could also use a stapler or glue. I didn't use either one since you'll see the staples and glue will take a long time too dry.

You need to start with a square piece of paper.
To make a square, take one corner and meet the edge of the paper. Trim excess.

Now you have a large triangle.
Fold it in half to make a smaller triangle.

Have the open end up and cut strips starting from the bottom.
You want to cut the strips almost to the end. (see red lines) Leave a little room at the top trying to keep the same distance left attached at the end and same distance between rows.

NOTE: You can mark it with a ruler if it helps. I just estimated and you couldn't tell unless it's way larger or smaller.

When cutting hold the left side tight and re-adjust as you cut each row. The paper will shift a lot if you are not holding it tight. This is a big step in keeping the rows straight.

1. Unfold triangle to the original square

Quick how to:
2. Fold over ((keeping the center rounded)) and attach with tape
3. Flip paper over
4. Fold over next row and attach together with tape

Flip paper and attach the next row. Repeat until all rows are attached.

Here are some more photos of each step.

I don't have photos when I attached them together but I started with #1 & #2 and overlapped a little and taped together.

Then attached one on each side by rounding the end and matching up with the the ends already attached.
#3 & #4
#5 & #6

Next you will need to attach them all together by adding a pieace of tape almost matching up and X in the circled areas below.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense or you have any questions.

I used a hole punch and fishing line to hang. They really turned out great and the residents loved them.
