GIFT ideas that are fun and SILLY - lots of laughs

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I wanted to share some SILLY and FUN gifts our family gave and received this Christmas.

Definitely FUN (and usable) gift we gave my Mom. It was more of a joke and she loved it.

This is a great gift for Father's Day, 21st Birthday, Party, etc.

Used dowels, shredded paper, floral foam and baskets

I used a wire cutter for quick cut ...quick, not clean. It's okay, everyone looks at the bottles and never notices the sticks.

I went to Twin Liquors and they have these ranging from .89 to $2.29 and the Texas shaped Tequilas (are also salt shakers) were a little more.

Hot glued the dowels and arranged in the basket

Ta-Da!!!!

She loved it! I wish I had taken a picture of the wrapping.....it was being called the BLOB present. If it's a gift, use a gift bag or just tie a bow on it.

Have a zombie fan? That's our family....remember our ZOMBIE PICTURE?

My only advise would be to buy a size larger then you/they wear. You need room to pull it over your head....to look like a zombie! Boys wear 6-7 and 8-10 and I purchased the Large and X-Large for them. I wear either a Small or Medium but went with the Large in womans and my hubby wears Large so I purchased X-Large.

These are really cool! Draw a picture and watch it "crystalize" right in front of you. Almost looks like it shatters making it look metallic. The boys and Nana had a great time with them. Only downside is they change back to wet marker and even start to run down the window. Not sure how long (maybe a few hours) or if temps in the house caused the reaction. Anyway, we just wiped it down but it might stain if left on the window seal too long.

IT'S WORKING!!!
We had to use a paper to fan one drawing to get the crystals to start and another we touched the corner and it started.

Silly and fun stocking stuffer. Boys used these right away and every day since Christmas. They thought it was really neat that it made their face cold as the liquid went through. They started with milk but after they had to rinse them out (and Mom wasn't going to do it for them) they've only used water since.

My hubby got a MAJOR AWARD! This is totally a gag gift my Mom gave him but he had it put together and plugged in before the next gift was opened. :)

I feel a telepathic attack is coming :) That's what happens when you're a Mom of only boys. My first thought is a X-Men character. Oh dear!

Teacher Appreciation - gifts and treats for Christmas!

The boys thought this was such a neat gift and I thought we should send something that wasn't loaded with sugar and make their jeans tight. Lol. We are guilty of sending those gifts as well ...quite often so this was a nice change :)  This could also be an idea for Teacher appreciation week.

I found these personalized notpads on sale a couple of months ago and thought they would be great for teacher birthday gifts. As the year started and I missed a few birthdays I decided to make them Christmas gifts instead :)

I used a picture I took from a hot air balloon that had all the kids making out the school letters. Turned out AWESOME! Some other ideas - the school crest, actual photo of the school or a picture of your child and their teacher. I made the photo transparent about 50 percent so you can write on the pad.

Sorry for the blurred out names.

Cello bags, punch, ribbon, tags, double sided tape and notepads

Used my favorite punch 1 7/16 scalloped lever punch by recollections (purchased at Michael's)

Added the tag and they were done!

The boys also wanted to give something to ALL the teachers...P.E., Art, Music, Receptionist, Nurse, Principal, Asst. Principal, Librarian, and to their main teachers as well. YIKES!!!! I couldn't afford notepads for that many so we made red velvet cakes in mason jars just to show thought of them. (See! We are guilty of the sugary gifts too) I LOVE HOW THEY TURNED OUT!!!

Red velvet cake baked right in the mason jars!

The boys made these for all the class - blog post here for free tag download

MAILING CARDS - Tip to save time! Plus NO MORE CRUSHED BOWS!!

I just saw a friend doing this and thought it was clever AND a HUGE time saver!

Glue stick to seal envelopes!!!! No licking, gross taste, paper cuts, or slobber on your mail. One little swipe and press!

GENIUS!

75 cards sealed in minutes!

If only hand addressing them was that quick :) I actually love doing it but so behind in sending them out this year.

Here is our card

front

Back - the card has text in the middle with names and ages of the boys. I love how it turned out ....especially  with our little time frame. Every weekend seemed to be booked until Sunday. We took these on the 16th and I mailed them out Wednesday!

And a cool tip to stop crushed bows when mailing presents!!!! Ribbon and scrapbook paper to make it look like Santa's belt. LOVE IT!

Dipped Pretzels for a CLASS gift! FREE DOWNLOAD - Christmas tag fits 4x6 cello bags

I know this is a little late but if you are like me and FINALLY getting stuff done, you might still have time. If not, save the link for next year!

The boys wanted to hand out little gifts to all the classmates and teachers....THAT'S over 40!!!! I told them, "It's too much to buy that many treats but YOU can make something." Easy peasy! I set everything up and put them to work. I had to re-heat the candy melts a few times but for the most part it was all them!

Candy Melts
Pretzels
Sprinkles
4x6 resealable bags (purchased mine at Michael's Craft Store)
Stapler

I like to upload to a 1hr photo place and have them printed on photopaper instead of cardstock. I trimmed the white edge off the photo, folded in half, and stapled. Use a Sharpie to add the name. SO CUTE!
