Christmas GIFTS - teachers, neighbors, friends - SANTA CAKES - baked in the jar! Fun idea that's inexpensive!

I love having super sweet and generous boys but sometimes it's hard to do on a budget, especially around Christmas. The boys want to give something to ALL the teachers...P.E., Art, Music, Receptionist, Nurse, Principal, Asst. Principal, Librarian, and to their main teachers as well. YIKES!!!! I wish we could afford notepads for that many. We still want them to know they are appreciated so we are making red velvet cakes in mason jars. I made these a couple years back and LOVED HOW THEY TURNED OUT!!!

Red velvet cake baked right in the mason jars!

Found these at HEB (grocery store)

I first put all the jars in the dishwasher the night before. I could fit 12 in a 9X12 baking pan with 1/4 inch of water in the pan. I filled all the jars 1/2 way with red velvet cake mix by using a ziplock bag with the corner clipped. Just SQUEEZE and PINCH to fill. SO EASY AND MESS FREE!!!!

350 degrees for 40 minutes

Added the icing and hot gluing the ribbon and belt

Teacher Appreciation - gifts and treats for Christmas! - PERSONALIZED - class gift

The boys thought this was such a neat gift and I thought we should send something that wasn't loaded with sugar and make their jeans tight. Lol. We are guilty of sending those gifts as well ...quite often so this was a nice change :)  This could also be an idea for Teacher appreciation week.

I found these personalized notpads on sale a couple of months ago and thought they would be great for teacher birthday gifts. As the year started and I missed a few birthdays I decided to make them Christmas gifts instead :)

I used a picture I took from a hot air balloon that had all the kids making out the school letters. Turned out AWESOME! Some other ideas - the school crest, actual photo of the school or a picture of your child and their teacher. I made the photo transparent about 50 percent so you can write on the pad.

Sorry for the blurred out names.

Cello bags, punch, ribbon, tags, double sided tape and notepads

Used my favorite punch 1 7/16 scalloped lever punch by recollections (purchased at Michael's)

Added the tag and they were done!

The boys also wanted to give something to ALL the teachers...P.E., Art, Music, Receptionist, Nurse, Principal, Asst. Principal, Librarian, and to their main teachers as well. YIKES!!!! I couldn't afford notepads for that many so we made red velvet cakes in mason jars just to show thought of them. (See! We are guilty of the sugary gifts too) I LOVE HOW THEY TURNED OUT!!!

Bite Size THANKSGIVING treats - SPICE CAKE dessert - MAKES a bunch

I made these Friday for a teacher luncheon but they would be perfect for Thanksgiving. Super cute, right!? Plus I'm pretty sure that when a dessert is this small calories won't count. Well, that's what I tell myself. :)

Layered spice cake, cream cheese icing and topped with whip cream....yum {{drool}} :)

I used plastic shot glasses and these cute little spoons I found at the grocery store.

First I made a spice cake or pumpkin bread would be good too.

I used one of the shot glasses to punch out circles from the cake

If you have trouble getting it out use a knife along the edge to pull it out

I then cut the cake pieces into threes (top, middle and bottom)

I have a few decorating tips but I decided to use the filling tip since it was longer. It's normally used to put filling into a cupcake.

I used a ziplock bag with the corner cut off, add my tip and I'm ready to go. I placed the bottom piece of cake in first, then added a layer of icing.

I continued with the middle piece of cake, another layer of icing and then the top piece of cake.

Topped them off with whip cream or you could use more icing.

Added the little spoons

Made tags that said, "Thankful for LTE Teachers" for our school

I dropped them off Friday morning but I'm sure they were a hit!
