2017 - Annual Family Zombie Photo - CAMPING theme - photography - halloween props & decorations

We do a yearly family zombie photoshoot and create a new theme of something a family would do but as zombies. A few are in a graveyard or inspired by the Walking Dead.

Some people send holiday cards.....well, we send Halloween zombie cards. You can see past years -  2009-201320142015 & 2016. I can't believe we've been taking them for NINE years!!!

Our theme this year - FAMILY CAMPING

I had so much fun making all the severed body parts and intestines and they turned out great!

The set-up

Camping stuff (obviously) - Tent, camping chairs, lantern, bbq grill.

I didn't realize two camping chairs were in my car and it's been in the shop for almost a month. :/ I also didn't realize my tripod was in my car as well. Only two chairs and we used our trash can as the tripod. Lol!

Mini grill with severed nose, fingers, and intestines.

New for this photoshoot were the severed arms, torso and intestines. See link above for DIY tutorial.

((Drum roll))

2017 Family Zombie Photo/Card

Hanging skeleton, severed head & hand on the lantern are in almost all our family photo shoots. Sometimes they don't make it to the final card but we used them.

Happy Halloween!

ZOMBIE eyeballs - Deviled eggs - Kids HALLOWEEN party ideas - themed food

I love Halloween and love to make themed party food. Here are my deviled eggs this year.

Hard boiled eggs and my regular deviled egg recipe.

This was my test run before the party so I used pre-made hard boiled eggs from the store. If you are short on time it works perfect. I do think homemade tastes sooooooo much better.

I added green food color and mixed. I always bag and use an icing tip to re-fill. You can fill any way you like.

NOTE: One year I tried using avocado to make them green BUT if you pre-make (which I do) the avocado turns brown and so do your eggs. They look really gross and maybe that's what you are going for. I wanted them green so food color did the trick!

Smoothed out

Added olives for the center of the eye

Added red food color to mayo and drew red "veins"

Everyone loved them!!!

KIDS Halloween Party - decor- food- treats & Zombie Family - 2014 photo

This party was REALLY thrown together in a matter of days AND I worked two 10 hour shifts leading up to Halloween and a 6 hour shift that day....whew. NO TIME to get anything done. :( Taking that into consideration I made mostly the same food except for a couple changes. This will all look familiar from LAST YEARS HALLOWEEN PARTY.

Goblin juice (colored lemonade,) monster fuel (beer) and boogers as the party treat for coming. Little tags said, "Thank you for coming" EASY PEASY!

New items - Bloody hand (cream cheese with chipolte sauce,) Tongues (gummies,) and Crappy cupcakes (looked like dog poop with flies) I had the best time saying, "Try my crappy cupcakes" "They look like crap"

Pumpkin vomit is always a hit. Girls not sure about trying it. LOL!

Tongues were new and I found them at Target. Didn't think much about them but almost every kid went crazy for them. So many awesome pics!

MORE DETAILS on the food, see THIS POST

I made a cream cheese hand in a mold I purchased at Wal-mart and froze it. I wanted to make a hand and pour chipolte sauce over it and named it a bloody hand with crackers. So I popped it from the mold (after the freezer and put it in a zip lock in the fridge. Trial and error with it turning out to be an error. CREAM CHEESE CAN NOT BE FROZEN!!! The consistency changes from creamy to crumbly. I couldn't get it on the plate without it falling apart. It wasn't so bad since I was covering it in sauce but the consistency was so gross. UGH! YUCK! I will make it again next year but put in the mold, work it out and then using my hands to make it smooth. Hopefully that will work.

ZOMBIES! Yearly Family Photos - HALLOWEEN - photography - {{BEWARE}} creepy/bloody - OUTTAKES

So, I know it's hard to tell from all the Halloween ZOMBIES, PARTIES, DEAD BODIES, DECORATIONS that we absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween.

Our family tradition for Halloween is to take family zombie pictures!!! We look forward to this every year and if the make-up wasn't so labor intensive, we would do a Christmas one too. We plan a theme and use the photos for a Halloween card. So much fun!  Can't wait to post this years photo but for now lets take a look back on past photos. Awe! Look at my little zombies getting so big :)

Oh and sorry for all the watermarks. I'm having a problem with people taking my small little watermark out and stealing my photos and using as their own and even advertising with them. :/ {{not a happy blogger}}
