2018 Annual Family Zombie Photo - Halloween Tradition - Make-up / Photoshoot - ZOMBIE CLOWNS!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Our family tradition for Halloween is to take family zombie pictures. We look forward to this every year and if the make-up wasn't so labor intensive, we would probably do more during the year.
Looking back at 10 family photos!

Zombie dog too! We were going to recreate this but our beloved Rolo passed away in March.

2017 - Annual Family Zombie Photo - CAMPING theme - photography - halloween props & decorations

We do a yearly family zombie photoshoot and create a new theme of something a family would do but as zombies. A few are in a graveyard or inspired by the Walking Dead.

Some people send holiday cards.....well, we send Halloween zombie cards. You can see past years -  2009-201320142015 & 2016. I can't believe we've been taking them for NINE years!!!

Our theme this year - FAMILY CAMPING

I had so much fun making all the severed body parts and intestines and they turned out great!

The set-up

Camping stuff (obviously) - Tent, camping chairs, lantern, bbq grill.

I didn't realize two camping chairs were in my car and it's been in the shop for almost a month. :/ I also didn't realize my tripod was in my car as well. Only two chairs and we used our trash can as the tripod. Lol!

Mini grill with severed nose, fingers, and intestines.

New for this photoshoot were the severed arms, torso and intestines. See link above for DIY tutorial.

2017 Family Zombie Photo/Card

Hanging skeleton, severed head & hand on the lantern are in almost all our family photo shoots. Sometimes they don't make it to the final card but we used them.

Happy Halloween!

2016 - Zombie Family Movie Night - ANNUAL HALLOWEEN themed photoshoot - Gruesome fun!

This year we were going to re-make our photo from 2009 and had it all planned but got a late start that day. We ended up setting it all up and lost light. We were in full makeup and had to last minute come up with something....anything!

MOVIE NIGHT theme put together literately with no prep. Someone make the popcorn, someone grab the props and bloody sheets (used for past Halloween parties) and I'll test light and lets do this!!

2015 Family Zombie Photo - Walking Dead Themed - Annual GORY Photoshoot & Halloween Cards

So excited to reveal our annual family zombie photo!!!! This year we did a Walking Dead Theme getting the idea from the zombies along the fence and eventually they knocked it down. I know you are completely shocked and surprised that we watch that show. Totally not our style, right? ;)

Normally our theme is family type things/activities but as zombies......dinnertime, family bbq, sightseeing, breakfast in bed, bath time, etc.

We had the best time taking the photos. I found a fence that was actually half a fence. It made it so easy to run stick my arm through the gate to take a pic and run back to the camera to see what it looked like. All done with a tripod and remote!

Easy prep for props. Probably the easiest I've ever done besides 2009 graveyard photoshoot. We only brought severed arms and signs.

Funny story -

So we are in the process of taking the photos when I see a little girl about 4 years old by herself in the backyard playing. Fearing we would scare her I went to the front of the house (in make-up) to let the parents know we were outside. So excited and intrigued the whole family came out including another younger little boy. So in between growling and moaning during the shots (to get into character) I was running back and forth to the camera in a super sweet voice saying, "Aren't we so silly!?" "I'm going to tickle them with my funny spray" (spray blood when they needed it freshened.) LOL!! Then the boys would giggle to try and show them we weren't scary. The family loved it! The little girl asked if she could hold one of our severed arms. "Of course sweetie!" So funny!

Okay, here is our annual family zombie photo! EEEEEEeeee! It's so awesome! Check out my youngest. He really wanted his jaw to be missing or that it fell off. The things kids ask for. Lol!

((drum roll))

Happy Halloween!
