2015 Family Zombie Photo - Walking Dead Themed - Annual GORY Photoshoot & Halloween Cards

So excited to reveal our annual family zombie photo!!!! This year we did a Walking Dead Theme getting the idea from the zombies along the fence and eventually they knocked it down. I know you are completely shocked and surprised that we watch that show. Totally not our style, right? ;)

Normally our theme is family type things/activities but as zombies......dinnertime, family bbq, sightseeing, breakfast in bed, bath time, etc.

We had the best time taking the photos. I found a fence that was actually half a fence. It made it so easy to run stick my arm through the gate to take a pic and run back to the camera to see what it looked like. All done with a tripod and remote!

Easy prep for props. Probably the easiest I've ever done besides 2009 graveyard photoshoot. We only brought severed arms and signs.

Funny story -

So we are in the process of taking the photos when I see a little girl about 4 years old by herself in the backyard playing. Fearing we would scare her I went to the front of the house (in make-up) to let the parents know we were outside. So excited and intrigued the whole family came out including another younger little boy. So in between growling and moaning during the shots (to get into character) I was running back and forth to the camera in a super sweet voice saying, "Aren't we so silly!?" "I'm going to tickle them with my funny spray" (spray blood when they needed it freshened.) LOL!! Then the boys would giggle to try and show them we weren't scary. The family loved it! The little girl asked if she could hold one of our severed arms. "Of course sweetie!" So funny!

Okay, here is our annual family zombie photo! EEEEEEeeee! It's so awesome! Check out my youngest. He really wanted his jaw to be missing or that it fell off. The things kids ask for. Lol!

((drum roll))

Happy Halloween!

Sleepover FUN! Minute to win it game IDEAS! Great for all ages - kids and adults - Party idea - Family game night

The boys had a sleepover at our house last weekend and it was a fun filled evening.

They had pizza, played Minute to Win it games, and made ice cream sundaes. I should say toppings with a little ice cream :)

Let the games to begin!

I tried to picture only my kids so I don't have very many.
I also had a tally board on an easel to keep scores.

4 playing cards set up. The original game description said to use clothespins and stand them up. I couldn't find clothespins so I used the stands from the game LIFE or Candy Land. Use rubber bands to see how many you can knock down in a minute.

I was going to have them blow up a balloon and use the air from it to move the cups but this was a little easier. We set up 15 cups and they had to push the cup by blowing into the straw to move them across a line on the table. This was surprisingly very very fast.

We used straws to suck up the air to pick up mini marshmallows and transfer them to a bowl. This was easy and the boys had fun shooting the marshmallows at each other after the game.

One hand behind your back and you use the other to take out tissues one at a time (can't dig down and grab them all.) I did allow to use your chin to hold the box. This one caused a lot of dust but we needed the boxes for our next game.

This one you fill the boxes with ping pong balls (found a box of 38 at a local sporting goods store for $12) and I used packing tape to wrap them around their waist. They might need to be a little lower but it worked. Then you shake until all the balls are out of your box. You can't lay down or use your hands. I videoed and I'm not sure how I managed it because I was laughing so hard. This was my favorite game by far.

This one was hard and ended up being my tie breaker game. You put a raw spaghetti noodle in your mouth and try to pick up penne noodles.

This one you take streamer rolls and try to unroll it first. The rolls are really cheap (.89 cents) and the boys had fun after throwing at each other at the end.

Finished the evening off with a silly string fight, video games, movie and popcorn. They also had some ipad/itouch time just before bedtime.

Tons of laughs with friends
PRICELESS!

We played Minute to Win it games during our NYE balloon pop countdown. This was the favorite game of the evening.

KIDS Valentine's Day Card - non-candy idea for a School / Class PARTY - Fake mustache

Here is a cute and easy non-candy Valentine's Day card idea.

I LOVE how these turned out! I was going to just print 4x6 pics and attach the mustache but after the photoshoot I spent the extra money and ordered double sided card stock cards :/ Pricey...yes but 1hr photo printing just didn't do them justice.

FRONT

BACK

I found these mustaches at a local party store for .19 cents

I was going to attach them over their face to match the mustaches in the picture to look 3D but the double sided tape would tear the card when the kids took it off. :( I just stapled them to the back.

Now what we did for Valentine's Day....

I wanted to share this WAY before Valentine's Day but I didn't get much of it done until the night before. Posting for ideas for next year.

The boys hand out chocolate dipped marshmallows too!!!

I made cute Happy Valentine's Day tags for the marshmallows.
I used a 1 7/16 scalloped lever punch by recollections (purchased at Michael's) or a 1" circle punch.

Remember THESE rubber band bracelets my son was obsessed making!? He made Valentine's Day ones for the girls.....yes, GIRLS with a S!!!! Oh dear! 3rd grade and I'm in trouble :/

Little box of chocolates, dipped marshmallow, and the bracelet in a small pink bag.

We also made something similar for all the teachers with Lindor truffles.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day PHOTO IDEAS for BOYS/kids - personalized cards

Pre-made cards work great because the kids usually just care about the candy attached, right!? Every year I'm so torn. I just love the look of personalized photo cards and try to plan with plenty of time ....and others....well, last year I made them THE DAY BEFORE!!!!
It's a little more time consuming but the feedback and excitement from the kids is priceless.

I started making these cute little Valentine's when my oldest son started Kindergarten. Each one is personalized and we always made two different cards. One for boys and one for girls :) We attached a fun dip to the back of each card.
