DIY tube glitter bracelets /necklace - NO GLUE needed - Dollar Tree find - Tube glitter or confetti curls - Fun and easy craft idea

I made seed bead bracelets recently and went down memory lane on how I loved making crafts as a kid. I used to make bracelets with fish tank tubing, air connectors, and filled with seed beads. The connectors never fit right but I found some tubing that fits the connectors perfectly!!

Tube glitter ???? I don't know how I've never heard or seen this but I instantly bought a bunch.

I found the tubing at Home Depot and the connectors on Amazon. 

I tried to order the tubing online but it had small black writing with the product info all over the tubing. That doesn't make for pretty bracelets.

Tube glitter from Dollar Tree.

I found these multi color packages of tube glitter at Dollar Tree for only $1!!! 

The SAME EXACT glitter (and so much less) would be $12 at Michael's for three colors.

Measure tubing around your wrist for size and cut. 

I made several at 8" long.

Insert the connector.

Now the fun part! Fill with glitter, beads, sprinkles, chunky glitter, tube glitter, jewels, confetti, glass glitter, microbeads or anything else that will fit!

I made a paper type funnel for the tube glitter since it's so chunky. It does get stuck so you have to tap the tube with a pencil to get it to move down. You may need to squeeze gently and tap again. 

Insert the connector in the other end of the tube and you're done!

You could add some glue but I had a hard time pulling the bracelet apart without glue.

I also made a couple with fine glitter that I found at the same time.

Fine glitter is definitely easier to fill than the tube glitter. I tried cutting a tiny piece off the corner of the glitter package to fill. It worked out okay but very slow.

 I didn't have a glitter/craft funnel but this worked perfectly! I had the idea when I was filling the mini fairy jars with glitter. Wilton cake decorating tip #5. Lol!

Tap the tube to get the glitter to move down. Close and you are done. 

With so many different types of glitter the creative opportunities are endless. 

So easy and they turned out super cute.

Icicle party favors - TREAT IDEA for a winter themed event - FREE downloadable tag - Chocolate dipped pretzel sticks with sprinkles - FROZEN theme

I made these cute "icicles" for a winter themed event coming up Sunday! 

Super easy to make, inexpensive, and makes a ton is a short amount of time. 

I'm including a free downloadable tag at the end of this post. 

Supplies:

White Baker's Chocolate or Candy Melts

Pretzel sticks

Sprinkles

I used Bright White Candy Melts. 

Melted in the microwave and dipped the ends of the pretzel sticks.

Before they dried I added white pearlized coarse sugar sprinkles. 

The boys use to make these all the time for their classmates during Christmas.

I bagged 9 pretzel sticks in 4x6 cello bags from Micheal's, found in the baking section. 

Attached the tag with double sided tape.

16th BIRTHDAY - ideas - Gas Money idea, Donuts, Candy Cake - Special teen milestone bday

16th birthday is such a milestone and deserves an extra special celebration.

We were originally NOT going to get him a vehicle for his 16th birthday. I had to work and pay for my truck and insurance when I was younger. I think you appreciate it more. Now what changed our mind.....both my car and hubby's car are acting up. By acting up, I mean my braking system is failing and we just spent $2300, $1300, $3000 for three separate visits to between his car and mine in the last three months. PLUS, I had to get two new front tires a few weeks back after a flat tire. UGH! And remember, my braking system is still failing. I have no brakes for about 2-4 mins when I first put it in reverse. It's a slow drag but you roll and jerks when you have brakes. Soooooo, we are getting it "for him" but it definitely will be used while we fix other car issues.

So enough with the downer stuff....now for his celebration stuff!!!!

Found these giant metallic balloons at Michael's and used a 50% off coupon for each.

I helped him make THIS candy cake in December for his friend and he made a comment about wanting one with Hersey's Cookies and Cream bars. TA-DA!!!

I decided to make his rectangle and used a recycled box of cereal, fruit roll ups, and protein bars. He loves green so I made the base green to match his donuts. Gold metallic shreds to match his balloons.

It's not new but new to him. 

I found this GIANT red bow online. You just pull the strings and the bow pops open. So cool!

Finally, personalized donuts!!!! He loved them!!!

I ordered these for my boss last year and they were a huge hit.

We had a "snow day" and school was canceled. He was suppose to share them with his friends. We had donuts for breakfast and lunch and still have a ton left.

Can you freeze donuts? Lol.

1st Birthday CAKE SMASH - GIANT Cupcake - How to TUTORIAL - baking & decorating

I absolutely love these 1st birthday cake smashes! I had so many requests on how to make the cake after posting inspirational cake smash photos from past photo shoots.

Turns out the only photos I took while making the cake was my very last cake smash I did. :( I was moving and my new house didn't have the space to continue.

I purchased this Big Top Cupcake Mold years ago and have used it so many times. The boys use to request this as their birthday cake before the Kit Kat cake. 

Make your favorite cake recipe or box cake mix. Split batter into the two molds and bake at the same time. 

Remove from mold. Trim off top of base and top of top. Lol. Trim the two ends that fit together so they sit flat. :)

Add a layer of icing between the two layers before starting to decorate.

I used cream cheese icing colored to match the theme.

Always the same tips just different colored icing. 

Since we were in the process of moving I didn't have anything ready. Quick red candy melts to the rescue. Melted and I made a backwards #1 with a little extra long "tail" or "stick" to place in the cake so the #1 would sit on top of the icing. 

I also made circles to put all around the cake but last minute I decided on Wilton Jumbo Stars Sprinkles.

Just a note - The small embellishments made out of candy or candy melts are choking hazard size. We basically watched and removed them from where the child were digging in the cake. Just for photos in the beginning.
