2018 Happy New Year!!! NYE celebration - backdrop & card idea - New Year, New Home

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

We have a balloon pop tradition every year BUT not this year :( We were moving and with family coming visit at the first of the year, I couldn't pull it off. The balloon pop takes lots of planning and my craft room was a disaster. EVERYTHING was stored in the craft room until it finds a place in the attic or gets unpack. :(

We made the best of it.

We had shrimp cocktails and cheese spread, made cookies, scratched off lottery tickets and even managed a photo booth!!!

Also, because of the move we didn't send out our Christmas cards. First time in 16 years but there was no way to get clothes, take photos, edit, create a card, order, address and mail. Whew! Working full time, moving and unpacking was so crazy.

INSTEAD.....

We ended up making a New Year card AND a new home card in one. This way I could share our new address!

Since EVERY single wall was lined with boxes I used my craft room shelves for our backdrop.

I used the same wrapping paper as last year.

I found metallic curtains at Wal-Mart and purchased 2 silver and 2 gold to make the backdrop look a little different.

I love how it turned out!!!

DIY Super Easy & Inexpensive PHOTO BOOTH idea! Great for PARTIES!

I posted our NEW YEAR'S EVE kid friendly activities and so many people asked about this photo booth.

It was SUPER EASY and put together in a matter of minutes. So much fun and definitely a highlight of the night.

We made it for NYE but perfect for parties, sleepovers, weddings, etc.

SUPPLIES:

1 or 2 -tension rods (shower curtain rods)

wrapping paper, craft paper or material

(optional) streamers, ribbon, any other hanging decorations

fishing line

I found some wrapping paper on sale after Christmas at Target. Looked kinda NYE-ish. Black with silver snowflakes.

Dizzy danglers from Wal-Mart for .97 (pk of 3), black and white streamers, and black and silver (Christmas) ribbon I found at Micheal's on sale. We didn't end of using the streamers or ribbon because it looked awesome already. YAY!

I purchased a tension rod at Wal-Mart for $6.96 and should have bought two. One for the backdrop and one for the decorations. Works anywhere in a door way or hallway. This would be perfect if you didn't want a room accessible at a party. Photobooth in the doorway. GENIUS!!!

Due to the lack of planning, I ended up lugging my huge backdrop holder out instead and using one tension rod.

The boys set it up between activities. After he hung all the dizzy dangers I moved the tension rod up close to the top.

TEST SHOTS :)

I was testing the camera and the boys were not even paying attention and I didn't notice my hubby's different poses for each test shot until I uploaded. Made me smile.

My favorite is his Always Sunny In Philadelphia BEAR and DEER = "BEER" shirt. This was a Christmas present.

So awesome!

I would like to say this was a one shot take but we probably threw confetti about 10 times and ate some a couple of time.

Me AGAIN! I know, such a goon.

The best part was after it was over I rolled the paper back up and I'll use it next year to wrap presents :)

T-shirt gift to look like CANDY! Birthday party WRAPPING idea

CANDY WRAPPING!!!

Kids are so excited to see a present that looks like a huge piece of candy!

This is a great way to wrap a t-shirt!

Roll the t-shirt

Measure the paper just past the length of the t-shirt and pinch the paper to make sure it covers completely. Add cello wrap.

Add ribbon

TA-DA!!!

This would be a great prop for a candyland theme party. Cut pool noodles and wrap!

Quick post

Here are some gifts I wrapped last year. I threw it all together in a quick little video too. Most of my gifts I embellish with left over decorations and broken ornaments. Nothing goes to waste!

Me not knowing where to start :/

I gave these cute little pins to a friend but wanted to make them look more festive then a little bag. I used a gift card holder box and wrapped the spot where the gift card goes with red glitter ribbon and then attached the pins. So cute!

DIY Ribbon & Wrapping ORGANIZER - how to make tutorial - Rack, display, storage - how to build - CRAFT ROOM organization idea

My first post was just photos and being super excited to have organization in place.

Now I'm sharing all the details.

All supplies were purchased at Home Depot.

1/4" rods

1/4" wing nuts

#4 hooks

Chain

I decided to use the 1/4" since it was lightweight, inexpensive, and fit nicely in the chain.

1/4" wing nuts. I opened a package just to make sure they fit.

#4 hooks - I went a little crazy with the size. I wasn't sure how heavy everything was going to be :)

Not sure the size of the chain. I picked one that fit the 1/4" rod and was the least expensive. Here is my tough guy or so he thought, holding the chain.
