Fancy DIPPED OREOS - How to tutorial with silicone mold - PARTY FAVORS - Wedding, birthdays, events - DIY no bake treats

I love making dipped oreos -  Patriotic,  teacher appreciationbasketball partyanniversary, Valentine's daymini oreos, EVEN on a stick but I've never used a mold. To be honest I think it's way too much chocolate BUT they look so pretty. My boys think they look like hockey pucks and my youngest could only take a few bites.

With all that said, I still made some for three different events. They all turned out amazing and everyone oooh'd and ahhh'd over them. Some said they looked too pretty to eat and that's probably a good thing. :)

I found a silicone baking mold online and they came in a pack of two.

I melted candy melts in a bowl in the microwave. Microwaved for 40 seconds, moved the melts around with a spoon and microwave again for 20 more seconds.

They are usually pretty soft at this point and just need to stir until smooth. IF NOT, microwave for another 20-30 seconds.

I didn't need to add any coconut oil like I did for dipped nutter butters.

Add a spoonful of melted candy melts into the bottom of the mold. It's just enough to cover the bottom. Press the Oreo in the center of the mold but not too hard. You don't want the cookie to show through.

Use another spoonful to cover the top of the Oreo and spread out the candy melts over the cookie.

Next hold the edges of the mold and lightly tap the mold on the counter to get all the air bubbles out.

In the process the cookie also comes to the top.

After I'm sure all or most of the air bubbles are out I use the spoon to gently press the cookie back down.

Tap the mold one more time to get the top to even out.

Place in the freezer for about 10-15 mins. Pop from mold and let sit until back to room temperature before decorating.

I made these for a luau party after I made some mini luau candies.

They were the perfect size for the top and turned out so cute!

I made these for a co-worker's birthday and put them in a cute take out box that matched one of the colors of the confetti sprinkles.

And I made these for a friend's bridal shower.

DIY MINI chocolate party favors - silicone mold - Custom CANDY MELTS - LUAU theme ideas - Cute flamingo

I'm planning a LUAU themed bingo at our local retirement residence at the end of the month. I made these cute pineapple favor bags a couple days ago and now to fill them. I'm trying to come up with cute custom or personalized items or party favors that are not that expensive.

Found this mold at Michael's in the baking section. Candy melts are my favorite. I use them to make dipped nutter butters or oreo cookies but never tried them in a mold.

To fill I broke up pieces of candy melts. Since these molds are super tiny I found it easier to grate some of the candy melts for smaller areas or add a second color.

I added the green and yellow to some of the flowers.

This was a little bit of trial and error. My thought process was to heat the oven on a low temp to melt. Well, it was taking waaaaaayy too long so I increased the temperature from 100 degrees to 200 degrees. Within 5 minutes they burned :/ I had to freeze the mold in order to remove and start again.

Plan B - I filled the mold again and used the microwave.

Heat 40 seconds
Check
Heat 20 seconds

I used the end of a paint brush to move the candy melts around to make sure the mold was filled completely.

Then I held the ends and tapped on the counter. Helps with air bubbles and smooths them out making the back flat.

Freezer for 10 minutes.

NOTE: I find if you freeze them too long they can get a little sticky.

I love how they turned out.

I created cute labels and filled 4x6 treat bags.
