Box full of hugs and kisses - care package idea - great for birthdays or just a "thinking of you" surprise - heart filled gift

I love sending little care packages. I found these monogram boxes at Michael's a while back. I decided these would be cute for my Mom, MIL, and all my aunts for their birthdays or Mother's day. I only have one aunt left that I'll mail later this year.

Sending the box filled with hugs & kisses.
I've actually mailed packages with Hershey's hugs and kisses but it's too hot now.

I used neon paper and matching Sharpie markers.

I used two pieces of paper at a time and cut hearts with a heart shaped lever punch.

I'm not sure how many hearts but 8 pieces of paper (2 of each color) filled two small boxes.

I used the matching Sharpie to write HUG and KISS on the hearts.

I folded two at a time and separated before putting in the box.

I sent this one earlier this year.
Box with a personalized 3D printed keychain.

I used pastel paper for this one.

I've also sent just the hearts (and cash) as a little "Sending some love" surprise

Niche decorating IDEAS - everyday & holidays - books, frames, candles, art - DECOR - How to fill in space

This is the first house we've had a niche and not only do I have one, but I have three.
What is a niche? A recess in a wall and all of mine have shelves. Before now I didn't even know how to pronounce it right and still not sure. Lol. Some people sound it out as niCH or kneeSH and for now I'm saying kneeSH.

My first thought,"Grrrreat, something to dust." I despise dusting and only planned to decorate once and never change it. Then Christmas and Valentine's Day came around and I'm kinda having fun changing them.

Here are two of the three currently. I'll take a photo of the third one and update.
Valentine's Day theme.
Not sure if I'll keep changing them for the holidays but for now it's forcing me to dust. :D

The bottom photo is my absolute favorite of my boys.
I'm still working on decorating and testing out different looks so you'll see some of the same things. Also, I don't have that much filler crap and trying to slowly find new things. I have some floral and might try that too.

Valentine's Day I have a heart basket with candy and didn't want two candy dishes. I filled the glass jar with dog treats instead of candy. We have FOUR dogs and they are loving the quick access to their treats.

This one is down the hall. It's finished but only have a photo while I was working on it. This one also has a shelf that is a little warped and certain things amplify that.

I would like to buy something rounded and maybe hang it on the wall in the top part or maybe stencil, or paint or add lights. Hmmm....

BUT I don't have that much to fill 2 entire niches. I added large ornaments as filler on one side.

The jar on the second shelf is missing the diffuser sticks when I took the photo. Just in case you were wondering. :)

Our decor at our old house was brown, black and olive green. Now we have a new new rug and throw pillows that have burgundy and more blacks and greys. I'll keep you posted on my next update.

UPDATE:
St. Patrick's Day...so far. I'm in the process of making a green photo block like the Valentine's day blocks.
My absolutely favorite photo of the boys. <3

I found these Ferrero Rocher candies on sale after Valentine's Day - 12 for $1
It's our "pot of gold."

Lucky sign was purchased at Micheal's with a 50% off coupon.

Kitty LITTER BOX CAKE - GROSS Halloween / April Fool's Day - PARTY FOOD idea - Cat Turds - Tutorial - So EASY

I've made this cake for Halloween, April Fool's Day, Birthday - You're the Shit Cake, etc.
So fun and super easy! I once made it for friends when they came home from a vacation after I watched their cats. LOL! Nothing says welcome home like a cat turds. :)

I purchased a new litter box and scooper. Lol. I know that's obvious but just in case.

Bake a french vanilla 9x12 cake or any flavor really. Cut into two layers.

Layer cake, icing, cake, icing
I used cream cheese icing but you could use any flavor as well.

For the crumble on top I crushed up Golden Oreos and added a little green food color in a zip lock bag.
Mix well and spread over the top.

To make the cat poop - I used tootsie roll candy. I put a few on a plate and microwaved for 5-10 seconds until melty but not melted everywhere. You just want it warm enough to mold. I start with 5 seconds and continue if needed.

I stuck a few together and stretched out the ends. :) Be creative! LOL! See the one hanging on the side? Creepy but so fun! The boys usually help with this and we joke, "Don't eat the cat poop, please!"

The one below I used more green food color and I love how it turned out!

PRESENT - fun & creative wrapping IDEAS for kids - BIRTHDAY gift - sock MONKEY/rubber band gun

You might remember this "CRATE" present from an ANGRY BIRDS GIFT

This box is much smaller. 10 inch X 10 inch X 10 inch and instead of money it has an armed monkey. LOL!

My son said his friend likes monkeys and he wanted to give him a rubber band gun for birthday. Hmmmm....how to put it all together as a fun gift.

Started with a box from HEB. 10x10x10 and some sharpies

Even decorated the bottom. More details on the box in THIS POST

Tried to fold in the part of the box with the most writing or leave it for the bottom. Whatever is easier.

Rubber band gun and rubber bands

Sock monkey

I used a ribbon to attach him and tie his arms in place.

Found these grenade "water bombs" on sale after summer at Walgreens. I've also purchased some before from Wal-Mart. Filled with air instead of water. :)

Started to fill the box with grenades and added the monkey

Tried to position him so he would look like he was ready for attack

Then filled the rest of the box with balloons and closed with little dots of hot glue instead of tape.

Labeled the box with printed text. This also covered any other writing on the box.
