18 creepy/gross HALLOWEEN PARTY FOOD Ideas - Fun kids parties - Spooky SNACKS

It's almost September and all I can think about is planning for Halloween!!! I never posted my party food from TWO years ago and that year I threw a kids party and an adult party.

Here are 18 food and treat ideas!

1. Roasted Eyeballs
2. Snake Eggs
4. Petrified in Horror

6. Dried Roaches
7. Bloody Hand
8. Scabs
9. Slime
10. Cured Epidermis

12. Tongues
13. Brain
15. Finger Food
16. Sour Cream & Onion Dip
17. Pumpkin Vomit

1. Roasted Eyeballs
1 bag of frozen meatballs
1 jar of grape jelly
1 jar of chili sauce

Sounds like a weird combo but everyone loves them.

Heat in a crock pot. Easy and they taste AWESOME!!!!!

2. Snake Eggs

I found these large containers of green cheese balls from Target. I didn't take a picture of the tag but they are something Frankenstein. Sorry that's not much help.

I've found them late September or early October for three years now. They sell out fast so check early!

I also found these gummy snakes (Target) and placed them in the bowl with the "snake eggs."

I've done grapes as SNAKE EGGS for our kid party before. Here are some other fun Halloween food ideas.

3. Severed Fingers
How to HERE

I served on lettuce with ketchup as the "blood." Sides of relish, ketchup, mustard, cheese were set out as well.

4. Petrified in Horror

I made my usual lasagna recipe but the final layer I used the meat to make an outline of a face. Covered with cheese and added black olives for the eyes and mouth.

Final step was to add a little pasta sauce around the eyes, nose, and mouth to make it stand out a little more.

I made two and cooked one for the party (held a few days before) and one for dinner on Halloween.

How to HERE

6. Roaches
Dried strawberries from the bulk section at HEB (local grocery store)
Dried cherries work too.

7. Bloody Hand
I used a plastic hand mold, soften cream cheese, and covered with raspberry chipotle sauce.

TIP: Put a piece of saran wrap down first and work the cream cheese into the mold. Place in refrigerator until ready to use. I usually make two by waiting until it's firm enough to remove from the mold and make the second one.

NOTE: I messed up my first year and froze the molded cream cheese. Bad idea!!! Cream cheese does not freeze well. Once thawed it crumbles and looses its normal consistency. So gross!!!!

8. Scabs
Beef jerky. That's it! Great snacking item and super easy! :)

9. Slime
Recipe HERE

10. Cured Epidermis
Wrap plastic skull with saran wrap and use tape to secure if needed. Cover with soft cheese spreadable cheese. I ended up using cream cheese. Olives for the eyes and roast beef for the head. (Last year I used prosciutto but it's really pricey)
Layer and press onto the cheese. I didn't have any problem with it falling off.

Filled the remaining tray with crackers, cheese, and lunch meat. I used salami, turkey, ham, and different crackers.

11. Raw Meat
This is a favorite!!! I love how it looks....so real!
Recipe HERE

12. Tongues
I found these gummy tongues at Target. Unfortunately I haven't seen them anywhere else. I would try late September early October.

One of the funniest things when all the kids discovered them.

13. Jello Brain
I've used this Large Brain Mold for years!
The photo above was just strawberry jello.

I usually used water, a little evaporated milk to make it cloudy, green food color (couple drops) and two large boxes of watermelon jello. It looks a little more real. The mold also comes with instructions.

I even made one for our yearly zombie photo shoot. Look at my little zombies fighting over dinner.

Recipe HERE

Lol!

15. Finger Food
Lays potato chips with gummy fingers. Get it? Finger food :)

16. Sour Cream & Onion Dip
Nothing creepy except I serve it in a zombie's head.

17. Pumpkin Vomit
Use your favorite salsa and mixed with soften cream cheese. I usually make this for parties and always say, "Try it. I promise it's good even if it looks like vomit." Lol. I probably shouldn't even give them a visual but it's become a running joke now. And that's how it became pumpkin vomit for Halloween.

I've made these for Halloween, April Fool's Day, Birthday - You're the Shit Cake, etc.
So fun and super easy!

Hope this gives you ideas for your next Halloween party!!

  1. Where did you get those cards from that show the food names?

    1. I made them all but I think I show about 4 different parties so I don't have all the tags. My biohazard post has the downloadable food tags - http://www.craftibilities.com/2017/11/easy-halloween-buffet-dinner-food-appetizer-ideas.html
