This year we made my husband a beer cake for his birthday.
Happy BEERthday!

I matched all the colors and made a gold, white, and black theme.

I picked several of his favorite beers.

Made these Happy BEERthday tags. Email me if you want the file.
Easy to print!

I also had some glitter prints leftover from the red carpet event and used the same star punch.

I used 57 beers total

12 pack Shiner Bock
6 pack Shiner Bock
15 pack Blue Moon
12 pack Heineken
6 pack Stash IPA
6 pack Firemans #4

I used a large bowl as a template for the bottom tier.
Traced on foam board left over from the mosaic birthday balloons.

Use a box cutter or exacto knife to cut from the foam board.
I'm using these from Amazon since you can just pop the end off and have a brand new blade.

I had leftover gold/silver poster boards from the money cake tutorial.

Cut and taped to the foam board. It didn't look good just white.

Arranged the beers to see how many per tier.

I used a smaller bowl to trace the next tier.

Traced an even smaller bowl for the top tier.

I basically just set all the beers on the table and put the foam board in between each layer. I originally tried to just stack them but it looked like it would fall any second. It really needs the boards for support.

top tier - 3 cans
2nd tier - 7 cans
3rd tier - 20 cans
bottom tier - 27 cans

NOTE: the bottom tier on the table is not completely full. Shhhhh. I spread them out to the edge of the foam board. It's full but not completely full like the other layers.

Since they are just stacked it would be difficult to transport. Maybe hot glue the beers to each foam board layer??? It was really heavy but maybe an idea if you need to take it somewhere.

I put the stars on wooden dowels and stuck between beers. Not attached either.

I thought about adding ribbon but it took away from all the labels.

AND for my husbands birthday gift.....a FULL Thanksgiving dinner. His birthday is about 1/2 way in the year from Thanksgiving so it works out perfect.

I cook everything!

Turkey
Green bean casserole
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Corn
Roasted broccoli
Sweet potatoes
Deviled eggs
Rolls
Pumpkin pie
Fluffy pumpkin spice cheesecake

This is an annual tradition and one of his favorite meals.

Wedding ideas - bling wrapped silverware & DIY personalized plastic plates - HOW TO MAKE tutorial - Black & silver - Halloween / Goth themed party

I'm helping a friend plan a small wedding the end of the month on Halloween!
So excited!

They are having BBQ and I thought of a few ideas to fancy up the silverware and plates.

Bling napkin holders for the silverware and paper napkins.

I found fake silver cutlery "Glimmerware" and black napkins at HEB and bling ribbon at Micheal's craft store.

The bling ribbon comes in so many colors and a few different sizes. Perfect way to match a color or party theme. I used the gold to make fancy treat sticks for the Red Carpet Event last year.

I counted 18 faux rhinestones of ribbon for each cutlery set.

I rolled a knife and fork in a black paper napkin.

Wrapped bling ribbon around the center and overlapped the ends at the back side of the silverware set.

The ends overlapped by two rows. I put hot glue on the 2nd row and matched the other end over the hot glue. Held in place until the hot glue dried.

EASY!

I made 55 and used one entire roll of bling ribbon and a partial leftover roll.

I added a design to the bottom of the plates to make them personalized.

I purchased the plates at HEB for $4.98.

The bottom of the plate has a small edge. I had to size the design to fit exactly within that edge.

I used double sided tape to attach the design underneath the plate.

The left arrow is under the plate and attached. I used the end of marker to go over the tape to take out any air bubbles. You can barely tell where I used the tape.

I made 55 plates.

CURLY Deco Mesh Centerpiece - Garland - DIY tutorial - Decoration - HALLOWEEN orange, purple, green & black - SPIDERS- Wreath

This is my VERY FIRST cutesy Halloween craft I've ever made!!! I'm all about scary, gross, creepy, gruesome, bloody Halloween stuff. I kinda (tiny bit) had fun buying some new Halloween theme supplies.

I've made a deco mesh garland before using a wire track but this was a last minute decision to make and I'm crafting at 2am. :/

No track, craft store not open, BUT bonus.....it's an inexpensive alternative. CARDBOARD!!! 24hr craft store would be awesome! Just sayin'

Supplies:
Deco mesh (Michael's with a coupon and $1 store)
Accessory picks
Cardboard or wire track
Pipe cleaner
Ribbon
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks

Styrofoam block or spheres cut in half (optional)

Purchased the little sign, green mesh, and black mesh at Micheal's with a coupon and purple mesh at $1 store. I bought two rolls and used both.

I wanted orange mesh but I couldn't find it in that size. I was surprised since it's Halloween orange but they only had burnt orange or fall colors.

Cut mesh 10"

Cut ribbon 12"

Layer colors of mesh. Keep in mind that if you want all the colors to look even then make at least two of each pattern. If you don't care....mix and match all you want!

Ribbon on top, pinch in the center, use a pipe cleaner to attach together.

Make a billion ton lots of bunches. I ended up using everything. Deco mesh - 1 green, 1 black, 2- (sm) purple, 3 colored ribbon rolls, and 1 pattern ribbon. EVERY scrap was used!!!

I used a side panel from a tri-fold science experiment display board or whatever they are called. :) The rest I used for decorating the office. I cut little styrofoam spheres in half for two reasons. 1.) To have something to secure the sign and picks and 2.) Add a little height in the center.

I thought about only using 3 but once I started testing spacing I decided to use 6.

Tested spacing of the ribbon and planned my pattern to make it symmetrical.

Hot glued in place and ready to attach the deco mesh bunches.

Gather all the curls together and add hot glue to the pipe cleaner and base of mesh. I held in place for a few seconds for hot glue to dry a little so the curls would point up and not lay flat.

I started on the outside edge at the middle making two rows on either side.

Once the edges were done I attached the sign to skewers and placed in the center.

Then I worked from the middle and continued to fill in the center row. (Three rows total)

Looks soooo cute already!

I found these glitter spiders at Michael's and made them into picks.

I held the skewers with a paper towel and spray painted.

Cut down to size and hot glued with some crawling down, to the side, and up.

Added spiders. The styrofoam made it so easy to add the final touches. SO CUTE!!!

AWE!!! I love it!

I used the matching ribbon and one spider for the door hanger.

Simple and ...... cute. I CAN decorate cute.
