Hello Summer wreath - deco mesh craft - Dollar tree finds - How to make tutorial - Front porch decor

I found this cute sign from Dollar Tree and wanted to make something fun with it.
Look at this super cute deco mesh wreath!!!
I purchased the sign and wreath form from Dollar Tree. I had the deco mesh but Dollar Tree does sell it as well. I purchased the purple mesh for my Halloween table centerpiece.

Supplies
Deco mesh (5.5")
Mesh tubing
Wreath form (14")
Sign (optional)
Chenille stems/sticks or pipe cleaners
Wire cutters
Scissors
Ruler

14" wreath form from Dollar Tree.

Cut mesh into 10" long pieces.

I used white, pink, hot pink, and yellow.

Use chenille stems/sticks or pipe cleaners to attach mesh to the wreath form.

Cut chenille stems 4" or longer if you want.

Roll deco mesh and pinch in the middle.

I used four colors of mesh but only three colors for each little bunch and made random color combos.

I made 36 total.

I started with 4 bunches but it didn't look full enough so I added two more.

I attached chenille stems on the two inside rings and alternated every other one.

Mesh tubing looped three times.

I wanted the green on the sign to be a little brighter to match the mesh tubing.

Mod Podge and green glitter added to the leaves.

Attached the sign with chenille stems. I might add some hot glue to secure it a little more.

DIY- Wallpaper Filing Cabinet Makeover - Tutorial - Office Project - SKULLS!!!

So with being a tad OCD I'm also a huge pack rat. One step from hoarding so officially NOT a hoarder. :D My logic anyway.

On fbook we have a local "swap" site that people list things to sell or giveaway. The giveaway part is my problem and I frequently need to remind myself that my husband will kill me if I bring anything else home. BUT I couldn't pass up a functioning piece of furniture, right!?

A functioning piece of furniture that needed a mini makeover.

Pictures don't do it justice. It's amazing!

Raised and velvety

Oooooh! I instantly wanted to cover every room in the house!!! Since that's not an option, I thought of 50 things I wanted to craft. In addition to that I'm stalking watching glancing on the swap site for any giveaways. It's really really fast pace and you have to post "I want it" first and then for the rest they type "next" just in case they pass on the item. Not bragging but I was first. What is it?

Filing cabinet. :) I know, not that exciting but I was super pumped to do a mini makeover with the new wallpaper. It's so pretty I needed to craft something for my office so I can see it all the time.

First I took the hardware off...well, tried. The lock was a little tricky but the "fang" looking piece to the far left slides off to release the lock after the bolt is removed. I didn't know that but finally figured it out.

Hardware finally removed and I could continue

Measured and re-measured and re-re-measured before I cut. For the lock I traced it from the inside and cut.

Ready to apply

I put a coat of Mod Podge on the cabinet and pressed wallpaper firmly.
re-attached hardware and DONE!!

Oooooh ahhhhhh! I LOVE it!

Oh the possibilities! Check back soon!

PHOTO BLOCKS - Valentine's day - DIY Tutorial - Great gift idea!

These photo blocks make such a nice personalized gift. I've been doing them for years and just updated my Valentine's Day blocks. Thought I would share a DIY tutorial.

First you need to use an editing program to add the text (optional) and crop. I use an old program that came on my PC years ago. I think back from 2006. Yes, really! It's a bajillion times easier than photoshop or anything else I've tried. HERE are just some of the cool things I've done.

First I crop the photo into a square. I want to make the edges look rough or torn so I need some room on the sides of the photo to tear off the edges.

NOTE: This is just a jpg file for sizing. It's not a open file to insert or move anything.

I made this 4x6 template that you can download HERE. (then right click and save)
Cover the square with your photo. Remember it won't be exact since every block is a little different in size but it will give you enough room to tear the edges off. You can even use a word document using text boxes to add the photo to the template.

Just place the cropped photo over the box and save as a new file.

The template usually makes the photo a little taller so you might tear off more from the the bottom and top.

I submit my photos to a quick 1hour photo lab like Walgreens or CVS to print a 4x6. Matte or gloss work the same.

Photo paper tears so nicely!! Love it. I usually have a tool to get this effect with regular paper.

Make sure it will fit on the block and tear more off if needed.

BLOCKS
For the wood blocks I purchase a 2x4 stud from Home Depot or Lowes and have them cut into squares.

It's so much easier if you have your own saw.....I NEED my own saw!
I thought Lowe's was nicer about cutting them and depending on the HD store I visited they either gave me a hard time or wouldn't do it at all.

I paint them black, white or red and use sand paper to distress.

I think knots and irregularities brings out the  beauty in each block.

For these I painted red for Valentine's Day

Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge

Add photo and press down. Let it dry for a few minutes before adding the top coat. The photo will slide around if you don't.

Add an even coat of Mod Podge to the top. You will still be able to see the brush strokes when it drys if you look at them from the side but looking at them straight on you won't notice.

Let dry and ready to display! Great gift idea for Mother's Day, Grandparents, family, friends, etc.

Super cute, right?

Possibilities are endless!!!
Here are some other ones I've made
