RAINBOW donuts - Quick & Easy - St. Patrick's Day Breakfast IDEA - Lucky with a pot of gold

I always do a fun breakfast for St. Patrick's day and this year it's donuts!

In the past I've made green cinnamon rolls, eggs, pastries, and even painted toast.

I wanted quick and easy. :) Or Lazy. Lol!

Two scoops of icing, green food coloring and mix. Heat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.

I only dip once and place on parchment paper.

I cut 1.5-2" from each strip.

Add a little icing (that wasn't microwaved) at each end and make an arch. It won't be that stable so use marshmallows to hold it in place.

I started with one mini marshmallow on the inside of each side. Then add as many as you want.

I used 5 marshmallows per side.

Added a rolo candy in the center as the pot of gold. The boys actually only ate the donut and saved the candy for later.

END OF THE YEAR class gift! Have a BALL this summer! FREE downloadable!

I made these last year and the kids loved them! I'm making the same this year but using school colors instead of the sunny yellow and rainbow colors.

It all started at my bake shop when I saw this....

Ahhhhhhh....I love rainbows and was instantly draw over to all the colors

I filled the bags with each color of Sixlets candy (chocolate center and candy coating.) YUM! They can be found at any party store too. I like this shop because I can pick out just the right amount needed.

I found these bags online HERE. They are 1x8 1.6mil (100 bags) They fit M&M's (original reason for purchase) but the sixlets fit perfect too! $4.00 for 100 and they say $35 min purchase but I only spent $14.00 including shipping. (200 bags)

They have tabs to seal but since I wasn't filling the bags to the top so I cut them off.

I made these cute little tags that said, "Hope you have a BALL this summer!"

Used my favorite punch 1 7/16 scalloped lever punch by recollections

I placed a piece of double sided tape inside the bag and pressed it closed leaving most of the tape still out. I took one side of the tag and attached it to the tape and matched the other side of the tag and attached it to the other side of the tape. One piece of double sided tape closed the bag and attached both sides of the tag! This is why I LOVE double sided tape!

I used just the yellow polka-dots for the back of the tag. The scallop made it a little difficult to match up so you can just use a round punch to make it easier.
