Easy mesh tube bow tutorial - gift wrapping idea - purple themed package with Dollar Tree finds

I love the tube mesh for wreaths but it's also great for making bows.
Here's a quick way to make a super cute bow with mesh tubing and curling ribbon.

Mesh tubing, curling ribbon, and matching wrapping paper all purchased at Dollar Tree.

46" mesh tube
56" curling ribbon

Make loops with the mesh tubing.

Make loops with the curling ribbon and add to the mesh ribbon.

Start with the mesh tubing and curling ribbon tied around the gift and leave the ends long enough to attach the bow.

I like to attach three bunches of mesh tubing and curling ribbon.

Tie the first bunch with both the mesh and curling ribbon.

Tie the second bunch with both the mesh and curling ribbon across the first bunch making an X.

Tie the third bunch with just the curling ribbon and in the same direction as the first bunch attached.

Trim any longer pieces, curl the ribbon, and adjust until you like it.

2020 Graduation mosaic balloon numbers - How to make tutorial and free template - 0, 1, 2, 6, 8 - DIY large party decoration idea

Virtual graduation viewing set-up. I made 5ft tall 2020 balloon mosaic numbers!
Same as the 18 birthday and 16 birthday balloons I made recently.

Step by step instructions on how to print.

UPDATE: To use less paper - don't click CUT MARKS or LABELS when printing.
Some people lose track of how to lay the pages out but if you start horizontal across 4 pages and then start the next row below it. See photo of pages taped.

I have templates available for 0, 1, 2, 6, 8. Just email me.

I have three other video tutorials on how to make the mosaic numbers and one for USA letters. Each one shows something a little different based on questions I received from people.

Open in Adobe and print as a poster. Change to 500% under tile scale.
Print in grayscale and in draft mode to save ink.

It takes 3 foam boards for the back or base of the number.

Measure 6" template and trace for each side piece.

Cut each board into 3 pieces for the sides.

For each number you need about 7-8 pieces for the sides. Total you will need 6 - 20x30 foam boards.

Don't forget to use the excess board from the base of the numbers.

For rounded edges, lightly score lines 1" - 1 1/2" apart on a side piece.

Gently press to open up the scored lines.

Be careful not to press too hard.

Attach sides with hot glue or tape.

I ordered all my balloons from Amazon and the foam boards from Dollar Tree.
I'm a huge fan of Qualatex balloons but couldn't find everything I needed.

12" Black and Red

Pre-fill balloons the night before and store in a trash bag.
I have to do this because the balloons will pick up dog hair.

I like to use a hand pump so the balloons are similar for each size.

Arrange some of the balloons for placement before attaching them.

Attach balloons with glue dots or a low heat glue gun.

DIY 16th Birthday Balloon number mosaics - Large party decoration idea - How to make tutorial - free template

Sixteenth birthday in quarantine. :/
We tried to still make it special and he was thrilled! He loved all the decorations.

Foam boards purchased at Dollar Tree.

Tape template together and cut out.

Tape template to foam boards and trace.

Use a box cutter or exacto knife to cut from the foam board.
I'm using these from Amazon since you can just pop the end off and have a brand new blade.

I like to make the base of rounded numbers flat so they stand. This is easier with just one number. If you have two numbers you need to measure so both are the same height.

Measure 6"-6 1/2" template and trace for each side piece. I used 6 1/2
Cut each board into 3 pieces for the sides.
For rounded edges lightly score lines 1" - 1 1/2" apart on a side piece.

I attach sides with hot glue but you can also use tape.

My helper :)

I filled this set with almost all 5" balloons.

I attached balloons with a low temp glue gun.

I used a hand pump to fill the balloons and used almost all 5" balloons. I filled with 1, 2, or 3 pumps of air. The 12" gold balloons are filled ramdomly.

200 - 5" balloons and 40 -12" balloons.

I just stacked toilet paper as a joke and found the 16 and Quarantined cake topper on Etsy.

I added the same color balloons on balloon stands and placed on either side.

Instead of a cake he wanted a fluffy oreo cheesecake. Yum!!!

I have a few other video tutorials. Each one shows a little different detail - printing, making them, filling, etc. Additional info based on questions I received from people.
